What's beef?

Somebody forward this to our good brothers Kendrick and Drake, and anybody else who needs to be put on notice.

Because what’s beef when Black women aren’t safe in the streets? What’s beef when Black women die faster than any other demographic in the country?

Here is what we know for sure. While there is an army rising up in the streets every Saturday, the media is telling us that the Black community is obsessed with rap beefs and telling yo mama jokes.

How, Sway?

Don’t get it twisted. Don’t believe the hype.

The real story is unfolding in the streets of our neighborhood, not on wax.

The real story is being broadcast live every Saturday at 10AM Eastern time. It’s being written by a million Black women, not by ghostwriters getting paid to profit off of our pain.

Join our weekly ritual and walk as an act of defiance and a demonstration of hope.

Tell a friend to tell a friend, and then tell them to tell The Shade Room so that this can go viral like 16 bars.

See you in the streets tomorrow.

The GirlTREK Team

P.S. For the next 10 weeks, we’re stepping away from social media and into the streets of our neighborhoods. Sign up for SMS text messages so you can get exclusive updates from the movement that won’t be posted on the gram.
