Black History Bootcamp - Season 7

This Summer we invite you to find shelter in the love of a million Black women.

Let us be your sanctuary.

Come home with GirlTrek’s Summer of Radical Welcome.

Home.

… to yourself.

… to your community.

… to your joy.

It’s a series designed for Black women looking for restoration.

At the end, we guarantee that you will feel:

  • Expansive and physically stronger.

  • Connected to community.

  • Rooted in your own best vision for your life.

It’s easy to participate. Just follow these three easy steps.

  1. JUNE 1ST - WALK: Black History Bootcamp is a walking series with daily lessons recorded live each weekday at Noon ET and posted to your favorite podcast channel, the next day. This June 1st, we kick off with 21 Pleasure Principles. Together we will study the practical ways in which the ancestors were able to navigate and transform pain into pleasure. We will learn how to feel alive in our bodies. How to make choices that center our pleasure, and how to heal from within. To receive your daily assignment in your inbox make sure you have registered at Blackhistorybootcamp.com

  2. JUNE 17TH - HOST:  Host a welcome walk in your neighborhood! Become a part of GirlTrek’s national welcome committee. This Juneteenth we are taking over Black neighborhoods in America with GirlTrek walks. Will you host one? We want every Black woman to experience the love of walking with a GirlTrek sister and to know that she doesn’t have to walk this road alone. If you’re down, please let us know here. Hosting a GirlTrek walk is super easy. We will make sure you are trained and prepared with everything you need!

  3.  JULY 1ST- PLAY: How can you move closer to the things that delight you? After Black History Bootcamp wraps, we will be going on a self-guided journey in July to reconnect with our inner child, our favorite outdoor activities, and the pleasures that we can experience on purpose.

Need more reasons to let this be your season of rising up?

Last night I went to bed thinking about this email and this week and how to create the momentum needed to get every Black woman reading this out in the streets at walking with us this June. Restless, I rolled over in the middle of the night, and looked at the clock on my phone. The time read “4:44” and underneath the time was an alert that led me to this post on social media from Carnesha in Riverside, California, who posted this.

“GirlTrek saved me. Walking every day with Morgan and Vanessa feels like I am walking with my best girlfriends.  Feeling the energy of women walking with me from around the world carried me through the grief of losing my mother, strengthened me through the shock of losing my job, and supported me in stepping into the biggest dream for my life and going back to school.  You don’t know what you don’t know and I am grateful for the daily lessons that you share that teach me a new way of thinking and engaging with the world. I’ve told everybody I can about this phenomenon. I can’t wait for June 1st.”

We can’t wait to walk with you on June 1st.
